My mom was partial to Lighthouses. Whenever I see one I feel her looking over my shoulder. These are all within a few miles of my home. I can’t see them from here, but I do see light from the Farallon Island lighthouse from time to time.

I love lighthouses too! I especially like that first shot. I feel the same way about my mom…sometimes when I’m shooting something she would have loved I’m pretty sure she’s there.

I love the Pigeon Point photo. It looks as if it should feature somewhere in The Hobbit.

It’s actually a composit of two locations. So from that pov it probably is like the Hobbit.

Thanks. That was an early experiment with Photoshop and HDR. I composited a set of steps from a beach with a shot of the lighthouse. I just saw the stairs the other day. It’s a great beach where colored pebbles are strewn about the shore. A delightful place for photography.
