I looked for paddle boarders on the American river but didn’t find a one. The weather was warm with a hint of breeze to keep the fall leaves falling.
The trees have peaked and the leaves are making messes. On every street there are scatters of brown, or yellow, or red. On some yards it’s just a big mash of yellow that spills into the street.
We took a hike with our friend Rachel, through the Ancil Hoffman Park where I expected lots of color but found shadows and silhouettes.
We’ll visit again in January when the bodies of these trees will be revealed against the winter’s steel grey sky.
A hint of mist frames backlit tree.
